I almost shit myself when I saw the list of nominees for the next Webby Awards.
Flickr is nominated in the Best Blog category. Flickr is not even a blog.
Google is nominated under the "Best Practices" category. That's funny...
Google is also nominated in the "Best Navigation/Structure" category. They have no navigation. There's no one way to navigate to all of their sites and modules. They still want simplicity over usability, even though you'd be hard-pressed to access their products directly from their main page.
Fortune is in the Best Financial Services category. Their site is not a financial services site. Their commodity is information.
And I didn't know AdCritic and Alternet.org were magazines. They're nominated in the Magazines category.
Does anyone at Webby Awards think about this stuff or is Jake and his girlfriend running the shit from his garage?
